Group Work Shed Scheme (GWS)

The Government of India has executed the Group Workshed Scheme for installation of modern looms in an existing or new cluster, which will provide required scale of economies for business operations and to organize Power Loom units in a cluster and to provide improved working condition in terms of more space, work environment, improve the work efficiency to enhance their competitiveness in the global market.

The Ministry of Textiles supported the plan during the conversation of the Standing Finance Committee under the directorship of the Secretary of Textiles.

The Scheme for Group Workshed for the Power Loom Sector was formed by making the important changes to the Group Workshed Scheme which was prominent in those days. These progressions were made in the decentralized power loom area to coordinate individual power loom units as a group.
